No Better Than

The name “No Better Than” gets it’s name from Gretchen Parlato’s 2011 song “Better Than”. A mediative and intimate song talking about finding inner strength, healing and beauty during times of isolation and uncertainty. It’s a whole process, learning to let go of heartbreak or loss. The meaning of the song is beautifully expressed in it’s slow tempo and rich harmonies. Just one of many great compositions made by the amazing Gretchen Parlato.

“No Better Than” is here to showcase the works of Gretchen Parlato. Not by improving them, being ‘better than’, but by commemorating them in their own way. With added instruments and
changes, the group hopes to do the songs justice and create an enjoyable evening for the listener.
